The urea formaldehyde fertilizer was the earliest study and had the largest use of slow-release fertilizer in the world. It has been studied matured in a foreign country, while it has begun to be studied in China in recent years. The study in china started late, and the development of the fertilizer was lagging. In this study, there were synthesis of urea formaldehyde fertilizer, quality evaluation, the transformation and application status in the soil, to elaborate the synthetic and application status of urea formaldehyde fertilizer. The article also pointed out that as an emerging research hotspot in China, urea formaldehyde fertilizer had more broad prospects for development, and provided a reference for the development of urea-formaldehyde fertilizer in China.
