Abstract

Abstract: 【The purpose of this study was to have a good understanding of the characteristic of the introduced rhododendron resources and to screen the appropriate variety for local cultivation 】 We compared with 28 newly introduced Rhododendron cultivars, in which the main flowering characteristics and main cultivation adaptability index such as flower petals, blossom rate and survival rate were observed and analyzed for 3 consecutive years. The results showed that significant differences in flowering characteristics and main cultivation adaptability among the cultivars. 28 Rhododendron cultivars were classified according to defoliation, flower color, flower petals, flower duration, as well as the cultivation adaptability. We finally selected four cultivars including ‘Wucai Xiajuan’, ‘Laodong Xunzhang’, ‘Tian Zhang’, ‘Hui Huang’, which were suitable for application in Hangzhou.
