Abstract

The paper aims to explore the quantitative selection method of green tree species. Sixteen common tree species were selected as the research materials in Zhengzhou, the growth and value of carbon fixation and oxygen release, soil reinforcement and fertility maintenance, water conservation, nutrient accumulation and air purification of these tree species were calculated. Then cluster analysis and principal component analysis were used to examine ecological service value. The results showed that Ginkgo biloba had the highest carbon sequestration content, followed by Platanus acerifolia, Fraxinus chinensis, Sophora japonica, Eriobotrya japonica; Koelreuteria bipinnata, Ligustrum lucidum, Cedrus deodara, Sabina chinensis and Platycladus orientalis had the lowest ecological service value; the other trees had medium ecological service value. The tree species with higher ecological service value are recommended for afforestation in Zhengzhou.
