Domain-names have an important role in the e-government websites of Domain-names have an important role in the government websites of Provincial Academies of Agricultural Sciences. The existing domain-names of these websites lack standardization, which influences public service and communication. Through the websites of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, 30 domain-names of these websites were collected, checked and confirmed by searching Baidu. Detailed analysis of their choice of suffixes and ways of naming domain-names was made to present the chaos in this situation, and therefore some measures for solving this problem were proposed: First, the suffix of these domain-names should be unified as “ac.cn”; Second, the acronym of “Academy of Agricultural Sciences” should be “aas” in English or “nky” in Pinyin; Third, the way of naming the main name of domain-names should be “[full spelling of the first word of the name of a province in pinyin]+[acronym of the following words of the name of the province in pinyin]”or“[full spelling of the unique abbreviation of a province]+[hyphen“-”]+[acronym of the name of the province in pinyin]”.
