The Investigation of Standardization Awareness of College Students in Guangzhou
In order to have Guangzhou college students for relative education, it is necessary to fully understand the status of students' awareness of standardization because their awareness of standardization is directly related to the future development of economy and society. This paper aimed to analyze the standardization awareness of college students in Guangzhou by questionnaire. The survey results showed that: Overall, the majority of students did not really understand the concept of standardization, and lacked of awareness of standardization. However, the boys in understanding of the standardization was better than girls, students in the major of liberal arts better than those in science, high grade students better than lower ones, and students from developed regions better than those from underdeveloped areas. Students’ main information source of standardization was from network, followed by television, while information on standardization through other sources was relatively less. So many college students did not pay much attention to standardization or even neglect it; this led to their lower application ability of standardization in everyday life. Furthermore, most college students were lacking initiative in learning standardization knowledge. Thus, more attentions should be paid to the standardization education in universities. Schools and colleges should offer the standardization curriculum and teach the standardization knowledge in specialty courses.
