A field experiment was carried out in Jianghuai Hilly Region to study the effects of several agro-water-saving techniques on the maize growth and water-saving. The results showed that compared with control treatment (CK), the maize yield of straw mulch treatment, application of Handilong treatment and application of Miaolebao treatment increased by over 9.8%, 6.5% and 8.9% respectively. In addition, straw mulch and application of Miaolebao could improve the soil moisture content, decrease the soil bulk density and increase the filed capacity.
