Jinqiu pear is a fine late-maturing variety in the south of china. Serious Harmfulness of Odontotermes formosanus in Jinqiu pear was first found in its survey of pest species. The distribution and harmfulness of this insect in the pear garden was investigated systematically by drawing-lined method. The characteristics of its occurrence and harmfulness and spreading trends were ascertained. This insect has a certain selectivity. The trunk of the tree is smooth and small cracks on it was no damaged and the trunk rough and deep cracks on it was more serious damaged. The rate of damage of pear trees went up from 0.91% in 2005 to 41.39% in 2009, which shows index growth. The insects spread to the surrounding by the old nest. Trees in the gentle slope is more serious than that in the steep slopes. Damage period is from annual April to November.
