Abstract

Since the 1970s of.20th century ,the lack ofthe new germplasm with high quality, resistance to manifold stresses, high combining ability and adaptability to extensive areas , became "bottleneck" influencing maize commercial breeding further developing. Inheritance frangibility of the germplasm applied in production caused prevalence attention,the amplification, improvement and innovation of germplasm became the most important work in maize breeding research. Tang Si Ping Tou maize germplasm played a gigantic role in China maize breeding and production. Hence, it was extraordinary necessary for maize breeder to thorough understand,master andutilize Tang Si Ping Tou maize germplasm. These were able to lie the foundation to continue to use existent representative heterosis pattern and establish new heterosis pattern in the new century, and with all-important practical and far-reaching historic significance.
