According to the statistics and detailed-investigation data of cultivated land area from 1978 to 2003, the trend and regional difference of cultivated land change in Wanjing region are deeply discussed with the helps of GIS. Based on which, the mechanism of driving forces for change in the cultivated land areas are dealt with by Principal Component Analysis in this paper. Research on dynamic changes and regional differences and mechanism driving forces of cultivated land are important for cultivated land rational use and maintaining homeostasis of cultivated land etc.
