The Role of the Government in the Development of Agricultural Cooperative Economic Organization

Abstract

China's agriculture is now undergoing a great organizational system innovation, which is to vigorously develop the Cooperative Economic Organizations (CEO) of the farmers themselves based on the family-contracting management. Agricultural cooperative economic organizations is the production of farmers’ free will, independence, and self-governing. Due to Chinese farmers’ decentralization and the frangibility of the agricultural industry, the development of CEO must obtain the support of government departments. During the development of the CEO, government departments should play a supporting and guiding role in the household land contract basis, take various measures to support the development of CEO, and strive to improve the degree of organization of agriculture, specialization, scale, modernization of the agriculture. The farmers should attend voluntarily through typical model guide. It will promote rural economic and social development in a comprehensive way.
