Abstract

When the pressure difference was produced at the opposite sides of vegetable and fruit container in cold room by axial fan, the cold air should pass the produce in container at higher speed and took away the field heat from vegetables and fruits. The pre-cooling system consisted of a static pressure channel produced by two stacks of vegetable and fruit container, and portable pre-cooling machine with a 1.5~2KW axial fan (weight: 200kg; size: 2.4m×1.8m×0.5m). It took 4 hr to cool lettuce from 28℃to 2℃ while about 26~30 hr by cold room pre-cooling. The time efficiency upgraded by 6~7 times, but the extra cost was only 0.002 Yuan/kg vegetables and fruits. The price of machine was about 7500 Yuan.
