The article compared supercritical CO2 extraction with common extraction(steam distillation extraction),putting emphasis on extraction efficiency, extraction time, extract composition and its colour. The results showed that supercritical CO2 extraction not only have high automation and ability of extraction,but also can extact selectively. So it was more suitable to extract temperature-sensitive and oxidizative matter, and supercritical CO2 extraction can be extensively applied in the development of volatile oil from Zanthorylum bungeanum Maxim.
