以乌塌菜、生菜为试材，以不施肥为对照（CK），并与施用NPK复合肥做对比，初步研究了土元粪对蔬菜生长、产量及品质的影响。结果表明：乌塌菜、生菜在株高、最大株幅、单株叶片数、小区产量、单株叶片重及单株重等指标上，施用土元粪与对照处理相比均表现出显著差异；但与施用复合肥处理相比，生长和产量的增加幅度较小。在品质方面，施用土元粪做有机肥与施用复合肥及对照相比，可显著降低硝酸盐及亚硝酸盐的含量，增加维生素C（Ｖc）的含量。

An experiment was conducted in field to study the effects of frass of Eupolyphaga on the yield and quality of Wuta-tsai and Romaine Lettuce compared to treatments of no fertilizer and N P K fertilizer. The results showed that the growth and the yield of application of Eupolyphaga frass were singnificantly higher compared to that of no fertilizer. Yield of applied frass of Eupolyphaga increased by 42.6% and 15.4%. The quality of Wuta-tsai and Romaine Lettuce were improved by the application of frass of Eupolyphaga. Nitrate and nitrite content of Wuta-tsai and Romaine Lettuce were reduced by applying frass of Eupolyphaga while the levels of vitamin C content were increased.
